“Creating consensus”

When thinking about the topic of “creating consensus”, we are often troubled by the collision of different voices and opinions on social media. In this age of information deluge, it seems more difficult to find consensus among different voices. However, this does not mean that consensus generation is impossible.

First, understand that consensus does not mean that everyone holds the same opinion. Rather, it is an understanding based on dialogue and respect for different points of view. We can shape consensus by actively engaging in discussion and communication. This could include taking part in class discussions, joining societies or clubs, or even connecting with others on social media. This engagement not only gives us a deeper understanding of different perspectives, it also helps us better understand our own and find common ground.

Second, consensus building requires listening and respect. We often face people from different backgrounds and cultures. In such a diverse environment, listening to and respecting the views of others is an important step in shaping consensus. This does not mean that we have to accept the other person’s point of view completely, but respecting the other person’s point of view is the basis for good dialogue and consensus.

Moreover, actively seeking consensus requires flexibility and an open mind. As we learn and grow, perspectives and perceptions may change as we gain experience and knowledge. Therefore, it is very important to keep an open mind and be willing to accept new information and perspectives.

Finally, reach consensus through cooperation and collaboration. In the academic field or on team projects, we often need to collaborate with others. By working with team members and respecting their ideas, we can work together to fuse different perspectives into a more comprehensive and integrated solution.

Building consensus is not just a skill, it’s an attitude. Through active participation, respect for others, openness and collaboration, we can find common ground among different points of view in order to better develop ourselves and contribute positively to society.
